We are what we listen to..

I must admit, I have a real bad habit of judging people on their taste of music. It does not matter to me if you don't have a sense of  style in wearing clothes, you are excused if you have a simple taste buds, it's okay by me if the only thing you are interested in reading are magazines with lot of pictures. But if you are someone who has never heard of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin or Pink Floyd man you are a persona non Grata For me a person's taste of music defines his personality. Any one who likes run of the mill music, can never be an interesting person to me. Yes I agree I can be at the receiving end of this argument, as I cannot understand the music of Mozart, Chopin or  Beethoven. I agree that there are finer things in life about which I have no idea, however man how can you not get high when you hear those awesome gut wrenching riffs of Ritchie Blackmore, or those awesome mystical solos of Page, and almost soul slaying vocals of Ozzy and Janis Joplin. I know I sound ancient, even by the standards of average rock music fan.But believe me once you go beyond the music of 1980's you would pray to god why were you not born 50 years back. Forget about Rock music, even the normal popular music was just so real and close to life. Think about the melodies created by The Beatles and what about that great man Bob Dylan, the lyrics of his songs somehow become relevant to every generation. And how can I not mention the real inspiration behind all these greats. The original American Blues and R&B musicians. Listen to B.B King's "Thrill is Gone", and you will understand what it means to have "Soul" in the guitar playing and singing. I can talk about music ad infinitum, however I think its more fun to actually listen to some awesome tunes or play them if one knows how to, rather blabber about them.
